A 40-year-old member asked:

What are the health effects of exposure to acidic pollution?

Dr. Troy Ross
Occupational Medicine 25 years experience
It depends: Health effects depend on the route of exposure (respiratory vs. ingestion vs absorption through the skin) as well as the type and strength of the acid. In general acids will cause damage by disrupting cell membranes.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
