Morphine side effect: Hello. Morphine can cause GI side effects like stomach pain, nausea, constipation, etc. Stomach pain and nausea alone would be enough to cause loss of appetite. Can make some patients so sleepy that they simply just forget to eat. Of course this is not good. This bad cycle catches up and manifests as wanted or unwanted weight loss.
