Tests: Carpal tunnel syndrome mainly affects the thumb, index, long, and half the ring finger though many patients note numbness in all digits. Internet search keyword: Phalen test, Tinel's, 2 point discrimination. EMG/NCV is electrodiagnostic test though often negative early in the disease.

Carpal Tunnel: First is exam by a Neurologist or an Orthopedic specialist, then referral for EMG (electromyogram) to confirm Dx.
