Risky behavior! : That which you describe seems like the perfect opportunity to transfer an infection from one person to another. Please advise your boyfriend that this is risky business. Thorough cleaning of his hands and avoidance of contact with his eyes subsequent to engaging in such practices is highly encouraged.

Herpes: Herpes is transmissible when there is contact with active, erupted lesions. If you did have active vesicular eruptions (you should be on anti-vitals) then he will have a high likely hood of contraction.
