A member asked:

Yesterday i sustained a transverse process fracture of l2 and l3 and possibly l1. when can i start horseback riding again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

6-8 weeks: Fractures usually take 6-8 weeks to become stable. Tranverse process fractures are inherently stable but will cause pain when active. Therefore in order to ride horseback without pain it is best to wait until you are mostly pain free which is usually around 6-8 weeks.
