Red Eye: First, never, ever put a contact in a red eye! Second this needs to be evaluated right away if it hurts so bad you can't open it. A red, painful eye is an emergency.

Leave contact out: it is possible that you may have either scratched her eye, used the contact lenses too long and exhausted your eye, or possibly have an infection. Leave the contact lens out. Use glasses in the interim. Use preservative free artificial tears frequently every 1 to 2 hours in the eye to see if there's any improvement of your symptoms. If pain persists, or vision worsening need to be seen promptly.
