Why do i get brown discharges before my period?

Brown discharge: Since its happening before - it may be mucus and the very early products of your menstrual flow mixing. How soon before and is this happening regularly. It is was a once and done - might have been some residual from your previous cycle if regular and close to your menses it may be the beginning of your cycle mixing with mucus. Hope this helps.
