Baby should be happy: Babies in the first 2-3 months of life can poop often, sometimes after each feeding. Pooping decreases as a baby gets older, and may eventually be just once a day. There is great variation... a few babies poop once every 2 days, others poop 6 or 8 times a day. If a baby is otherwise normal, eats happily, sleeps calmly, and has a soft tummy, a doctor's exam will usually just find a normal baby.
