AD vs ARCD: Typically the impairment of age related cognitive decline (ARCD) is not as severe as Alzheimer's (AD). Many cases of early AD are first diagnosed as age related until the impairment becomes more severe then the diagnosis of AD is made. I have used Aricept and Namenda (memantine) simultaneously in AD. Med choice based on response and side effect profile. Best wishes!
