A member asked:

How long do you have to be exposed to cold to get frostbite?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult question: It depends on whether it is wet or dry cold, what the outside temperature is and what part of the body is exposed. Mostly frostbite occurs on the hands or feet. The colder the outside temperature the more rapid the onset. Also relates to the type of protective clothing. It can be just a few minutes or longer of exposure.
