Not surprising: Infections with HSV type 1, which causes cold sores, also called herpes labials, are very common. Once infected, with the medications we have available at this time, the virus cannot be eradicated. Some individuals, while infected, never get an outbreak, but can spread the virus. With changes in sexual mores and practices, doctors more and more see genital herpes caused by HSV-1.

HSV-2 came back 1.52 but I was told to retest with a confirmatory test due to it being in the low positive range which could indicate a false positive so I did and it went down to 1.32 so a confirmatory test was done and came out equivocal? Help?
