Herpes unlikely: Herpes can mimic anal fissure or "tear", but usually it does not. If you had acquired herpes during the exposure 8 months ago, you probably would have had typical blisters, sores, etc at the site(s) of exposure, i.e. vaginal opening or labia. But the only way to know for sure is to see a doctor. Do it ASAP, before the fissures start to heal, for accurate HSV testing if s/he recommends it.
