Can't Beat DEET: I've been told that citronella or eucalyptus oil works. But, as they say, "Nothin' beats DEET," which is not natural but is so effective I use it to avoid any of the possible nasty things those pests transmit, like West Nile Virus around here and other things depending on where you live. So if you want to use "natural" products carry one with DEET in it just in case.
