Menstrual problems: it is a possibility. It could also be dysfunctional uterine bleeding or hormonal imbalances. I would consult your physician to check into this matter. Birth Control pills could help in the shor term

Doctor visit: Endometriosis would be one fairly common cause of inappropriately painful periods, but not the only one. You would need a thorough history and exam to say how likely this is. If 19 is your correct age (?) endometriosis would also be less likely, though not impossible. Good wishes.
