Allergy symptoms: Capillary leakage from histamine release due to allergies cause the swelling. Use an over the counter anti-histamine (non-sedative, ask pharmacist) and use cool compresses or a cool gel pack from the freezer to reduce the swelling before your event for a short term solution.
