Virus: This has all the characteristics of a viral upper respiratory tract infection which usually runs its course in a week or so and doesn't require antibiotics unless symptoms persist over 7 to 10 days or worsen instead of showing gradual improvement. Treatment consists of gargling with warm salt water,TYLENOL,decongestant tablets or nasal spray if you can use them. Inhaling steam drains the sinuses.
