Probably ok: Just make sure you inform your doctor of all the medications you are taking and when and why you are taking them. This includes OTC meds as well as CAM herbal supplements, Chinese herbs, green teas off the internet etc...

Not best choice: If you need instant relief you need to take something that will directly neutralize the stomach acidity, such as TUMS, (calcium carbonate) Rolaids, Mylanta etc. Prilosec(a PPI) and Zantac(H2 blocker) both act to cause the stomach to make less acid, but they don't immediately neutralize the acid already there. **PPI's like Prilosec can be "addicting" see:.. http://bit.ly/1HDj7EB
