Why is cellcept (mycophenolate mofetil) used in treating dress syndrome?

Why do you ask?: Because it is an immunosuppressant. DRESS is a potentially life threatening, severe reaction to a medication. Treatment of choice is high dose systemic steroids; if unresponsive, IVIG, and immunosuppressants such as mycophenolate can be considered. These very sick patients need intensive therapy.
