Don't worry: If you have missed a period (or it is late), you should go ahead and do a pregnancy test if you have been sexually active since your last period. As long as the pregnancy test is negative, don't worry. It is very common for women to have a late period or miss a period without an apparent reason. It is normal and expected for the cervix to be high and closed except when in labor.

Possibly pregnant?: If your period is late & you've had sex this past month, do a pregnancy test. I'm not sure what you mean by "high and soft". The cervix isn't "hard". If your uterus tilts backwards, the cervix points anteriorly (high?"). The cervix dilates only prior to the onset of labor. It might feel "closed" to you but it's open enough to allow sperm to get in and menstrual blood to get out.
