To a great extent: The "morning after pill" works by preventing or delaying ovulation. Depending on the type of morning after regimen, it is 85 tot 95% effective in preventing unplanned pregnancy if taking with 24 hours of unprotected sex. Most morning after pills work by inhibiting or preventing ovulation. Failures can occur IF you have already ovulated, so they aren't 100% effective. Best wishes.
