Swollen knee: a swollen knee without trauma in a 22 year old female is usually activity related. If you don't remember an injury the three causes for swelling in most cases are 1) irritation around the knee cap 2.) a torn lateral meniscus. 3.) a rheumatologic disorder. A virtual consult would be a helpful next step if it doesn't get better with rest/ice/ Motrin within a couple days.
