Esophageal ulcer: Certain pills can cause ulcers in the esophagus if they get stuck. Drink plenty of water with pills. It might help to take antacids or an over-the-counter GERD medicine like omeprazole or famotidine. It should heal in a week or so. If you can’t eat or are vomiting you need to go to your doctor or the ER.
