Less effective: Clomid (clomiphene) is less effective in most cases if it is started later in the cycle. The irregular periods are a symptom of annovulation and clomid (clomiphene) is used to help you ovulate. The timing is important for this. There is, however, still a chance that you could ovulate. If not, better luck next cycle. Hope this helps.
