Fiber is irritant: It is possible for your fiber to be an irritant to your bowel. There are different types of fiber on the market... Try another one and see if it helps. Also it is very important that you consume lots of water when taking fiber.

Fiber: Fiber can cause mechanical irritation to the mucosa in your GI tract. Fiber can also lead to larger/ bulkier stool. If fiber is not taken with enough water, stool can be dry. In this case, passing it may cause friction to anal tissues.
