Sleep apnea: Have you had a sleep study done? I think it will be wise to get one done. the description you are giving suggests that you may have sleep apnea. It is not necessary that you snore or are overweight.

Get a sleep study: The best way to determine if you have a Sleep Related Breathing Disorders like OSA is to get a sleep study. Sleep apnea doesn't necessarily affect overweight people exclusively. Most overweight people do not have obstructive sleep apnea or snoring does not necessarily mean one has sleep apnea.
