I took my last active pill in my pack 4 hours late because i was at work. i usually take them all at 5 and took this one at 9. am i protected still?

No problem: A four hour deviation is not going decrease the effectiveness

Yes: Changing the time you take the medication by such a small amount and just this once is not expected to have an effect. You should still be protected as well as you already have been. I do recommend going back to your usual dosing time with future doses just because it sounds like it's easy to remember for you to take at that time.
