Then what?: Cholesterol testing has been standardized internationally to ensure accurate results. It is not just cholesterol that needs to be tested, generally is better to fast for at least 9 hours and be tested for total cholesterol, HDL, triglycerides and calculated LDL. The results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and it would be better to see a doctor and get tested at an accredited lab.
