Might be HSG prep: Without an exam this pure guesswork, but sounds like you might have a sensitivity to the prep used for the HSG. Doubt it's the Elavil, (amitriptyline) but guess it's not impossible. If it continues you need to see either the doctor who did the HSG or maybe better the one who ordered it. Best wishes.
