Vomiting & fever is : more likely a viral gastroenteritis, as a lactose or other complex sugar intolerance does not cause fever. If the baby is > 2 months old, is able to keep down Pedialyte, has wet diapers, is alert when awake, & feels better after the appropriate dose of Tylenol (acetaminophen) for rectal Temp > 100.4, letting him sleep is okay.
