A member asked:

35 weeks along, my side feels like i've been on a long run where it's like a pulled muscle and it's hard to get a breath in. could it be contractions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Contractions should be paroxysmal, meaning they have a notable start and stop. A persistent side pain is more likely some other cause, but some possibilities can be concerning. Call your doctor or go to Labor and Delivery if your pain is severe or if you think that you could be in labor.
