A member asked:

I have hypokalemic periodic paralysis. should i not marry and have children because my children will inherit it? thank you.

It's up to you...: BUT...Hypokalemic periodic paralysis is a treatable genetic disorder with a normal life span. Progress in genetics and DNA analysis suggests there may be better treatments and even cures in the future. Unless a patient is so miserable that they would never want to put their child through the same experiences, I would advise against a decision not to marry or have children. That seems extreme!
