Reactive: Lymph node enlargement within the head and neck region in young people is most often a reaction to infection or some other irritant, although the exact cause may be difficult to identify. Of course, it can also be due to involvement with or reaction to cancer. If no cause is identified and the node does not go back to normal within a few weeks, a biopsy may be necessary
