Ceruloplasmin: 85 - 90% of patients with Wilson disease have low ceruloplasmin. Ceruloplasmin may be low in patients without Wilson disease & may be normal or elevated in patients with Wilson disease As a result low ceruloplasmin level is not sufficient to make diagnosis of Wilson disease & a normal level does not rule it out. A low level may mean you have 1/2 genes, heterozygote. Why were you tested?
