Rash on buttocks: A rash that presents as small grouped bumps or fluid filled vesicles which eventually turn into erosions or open areas may be a herpes infection. Usually herpes infections start with itching, burning or increased sensitivity in the area before the bumps erupt. Bacterial infection of hair follicles (folliculitis) and acne can also present as bumps on the buttocks but they are not grouped together.
