It varies: Pain arising from a "pinched" or irritated nerve in the spine usually goes away within a few weeks to a few months depending on the cause. However in a minority of cases the pain can persist for months or even years. Scoliosis is rotation/curvature of the spine most often in the middle back (thoracic) or lower back (lumbar). This can cause added stress to the discs in your spine.
