Psychologist : Psychologists cannot record sessions unless they have your written permission. People see psychologists, psychiatrists and other psychotherapists when life stressors become too much for them to handle. This includes battling such things as anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships that are profoundly strain if not completely broken.

Confidentiality is : guaranteed by law in the US. No provider can release medical or psychiatric records without written permission from the patient. At your first visit, ask the psychologist all these questions. When you make the appointment, ask if the provider has expertise in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Very personal: Decision, in regards to whether or not you are interested in working with a psychologist. They can be very helpful for many but you have to find someone you are comfortable working and opening up with. Additionally, you have be wiling to make a consistent time commitment. In regards to recording, a healthcare provider can't record you without letting you know beforehand.
