Possible: Any malfunction of the heart is going to affect proper blood return to the heart. U need to see a vascular specialist to rule out any venous incompetence

Edema: for mitral regurgitation to cause peripheral edema, it has to be severe enough to cause right heart failure. Generally that edema is bilateral.
