I've had constant yellow mucus that i spit out a handful of times a day for the past 3 months. this started happening after i got bronchitis.

Reactive airway dis.: This can happen after a bout with bronchitis. The mucus glands tend to oversecrete mucus. I suggest trying OTC Mucinex (guaifenesin) twice daily for 2 weeks. Lots of fluid too. See your doctor if it does not improve.

Mgt/workup: Your symptoms should be investigated further. I would recommend a visit with your physician who may order a sputum culture and chest radiograph. If you have not been screened for CF this may also be ordered. A virtual consult is available for follow up.

Exam needed: This suggests chronic bronchitis at this time. I presume that you are not smoking. A good examination of your lungs is needed with a chest x-Ray as well. If no lung pathology is seen, I recommend a course of antibiotics effective against bronchitis causing bacteria. Medications such as amoxicillin,augmentin,ceclor,avelox,levaguin are examples.
