White blood count over 17,000 for over a year.. tagged blood scan.. no infection.. sending to oncologist.. this sound normal? what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some ideas: I'm trusting that the cell are generally normal. If it's mostly lymphocytes, your oncologist will decide whether to call it chronic lymphocytic leukemia and if so, whether it's best ignored anyway, as if often is. If it's neutrophils, and they're mostly nice mature ones, it's about distinguishing myelodysplastic syndrome from such things as minor adhesion molecule deficits, etc. Again, maybe no Rx
