A member asked:

A hiv test a month after unprotected sex, is the result accurate? even though i am going 3 months after i would like a little relief if possible.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Too soon to know: A negative result at one month after exposure is better than a positive one, but a negative result this soon after exposure does not rule the infection. A three months, ask your doctor for an HIV nucleic acid test. If that is negative at three months you would be in the clear.
