Flashing lights?: The gel in the back of the eye degenerates naturally & during this process it tugs on the retina, causing flashing lights. Most commonly the end result are floaters in your vision, but sometimes a retinal tear. It is recommended that for persistent episodes of flashing lights, to be seen by an eye doctor for a dilated exam. This is to make sure that the retina is normal. Good Luck.
