A member asked:

Every time i have an iv bag of whatever my heart rate increases dramaticly. even during a colenostomy and they had an iv bag my heart rate was 140 +?

Mixed up: I think you may be mixing up the treatments you receive and the conditions you're being treated for. For instance, when you have a colonoscopy, you may well have increased HR due to the procedure. Of course, they put in an IV so that they can give you sedative and pain medicine for your procedure directly into your bloodstream. That doesn't mean the "IV is causing the increased HR".
