Contusion or more: You may have simply sustained a contusion (bruise of the bone and/or the soft tissues) but if it is very painful and hurts a lot to move it you could have broken a bone. Apply ice for 10-15 minutes at a time 2-3 times an hour for 2-3 hours, take motrin as directed and rest it. If it is not much better, or is worse by tomorrow go see a doctor.
