No: You should begin taking birth control pills after your menstrual period starts, in order for the pills to be synchronized with your normal hormonal cycle. If it has been more than two months since your last period, then you may need to take progesterone in order to cause withdrawal bleeding prior to starting the pills. Remember you are not fully protected from pregnancy until after a month.
