No need to think it: There's no reason to construct a link for this. Slight depression is very common and a young man w/ family difficulties would normally feel bad about it. I hope your Mom is well treated, but her illness might have made it hard to provide for you as well as we'd wish. Do talk to a psychologist for an evaluation if you want, but while > than some, you're not very likely to have Sz. Best!

Sad vs. depression: There is a chance that you may be suffering from depression or some form of psychiatric problem based upon your family history. That's entirely possible. However, many people also mixup being SAD or BLUE with actual DEPRESSION. I think the only way to accurately distinguish those 2 things is to see a psychiatrist or psychologist.
