Asthma: I rarely think of asthma as gone because some people have been known to enter a phase where they are asymptomatic and later sometimes after many years again become symptomatic. Even if you are asymptomatic, i recommend keeping a full and up to date rescue inhaler readily available.

Not so fast!: It is definitely worthwhile to have spirometry to assess one's lung function. There are many asthmatics that feel as if they have outgrown their asthma by adulthood, when in fact lung function testing reveals evidence of current/persisitent inflammation.
