A member asked:

For wart treated with liquid nitrogen, what happens if it blisters?

Normal finding: When you use cryotherapy (freezing) a wart it normally results in a blister. The damage to the wart from freezing with liquid nitrogen is similar to a heat burn. Cryotherapy works by tricking the body into creating an immune response to the virus that causes warts.

That is good: Usually the blister will raise the wart and all that tissue will slough off over a period of 3 weeks or so and new healthy skin will come in.

Common: to blister after cryotherapy for warts. If a blister forms best to leave it alone. If it breaks, clean the area to prevent the possible spread of the wart virus. Avoid contact with the fluid, which may contain the wart virus. Often the blister will dry up over the next few days, and the wart may fall off.
