Beet color: Eating beets will cause your stool to turn blackish red in color. No problem.

If tiny black specks throughout stool is blood would it turn red in water. Was able to get some of the specks on a piece of tissue and pressed on them with another wet tissue and they stayed black. Does it sound more likely to be from food?
