Causes many symptoms: Imbalances of cortisol in the body can cause a number of adverse effects and clinical symptoms. These manifestations depend on the severity of the imbalance and whether cortisol levels are too high or too low. Chronic exposure to excess glucocorticoid like in Cushing's syndrome can cause hypertension, obesity, muscle weakness, bone loss, ophthalmologic findings, etc. Should have further workup.
