An up turning zyfoid: process which is the lowest segment of the sternum is the most likely answer. Especially so in thinner people or those who have lost weight recently. It is just an anatomical variant. Those who had" beer bellies" & subsequently lost weight are more prone 2 this. The diagram shows it. Way at the lower end of the sternum.
